Analysis has uncovered that nearly 90 flights connected to Jeffrey Epstein reportedly landed at and took off from UK airfields, with some allegedly transporting British women who allege they were exploited by the convicted child sex offender.
Aviation Records Reveal Trail of Travel
The travel manifests were part of a trove of legal papers and files released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the last year. The investigation uncovered 87 flights tied to Epstein – including many that were previously unknown – landing or taking off from British airfields between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unnamed “females” were listed among the travelers flying to and from the UK. Crucially, 15 of these UK flights took place subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a minor.
“It was ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘comprehensive British inquiry’ into his dealings in the country,” stated American attorneys acting for hundreds of Epstein victims.
UK Survivors and Court Cases
Evidence from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. But, that victim has never been contacted by British law enforcement, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the London's Metropolitan Police indicated they had “not been provided with any new evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They noted, “If fresh and pertinent information be presented to us, including any resulting from the release of material in the US, we will assess it.”
Ongoing Disclosure and Legal Rulings
Proposed legislation to release all files held by the American government in relation to Epstein was approved by the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. A vast number of files are expected to be made public.
In a related development, a US judge decided last week that the department could publicly release case files from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s long-term associate, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence over the charges.
